円環 / ENKAN
本来、祝祭を飾るためのサブ装置として存在した機械部品や装飾構造は、すでに役目を終え、機能を失い、世界から切り離されている。しかしこの円環は、なお「美しい形」であろうとしながら、静かに輪のかたちを保ち続けている。
ここにあるのは、救済としての美ではない。
意味を手放し、役目を失ってなお残された“美”は、やがて奇妙に歪み、醜さに限りなく近い美へと変質していく。
円環を構成する細部を覗き込むと、そこには見慣れたモーターサイクルの部品が沈んでいる。かつて速度と機能のためだけに存在したそれらは、いまや意味を失い、「形だけの美」を支える骨格として固定されている。
この作品は、世界崩壊後に最後まで残されてしまった“美への執着”を可視化する試みである。それは祝福の対象ではなく、人間が永遠に取り憑かれ続けている、美という呪いの遺骸である。
ENKAN / The Ring
The mechanical parts and ornamental structures that once existed only as auxiliary devices to decorate celebrations have already lost their purpose, their function,and have been cut off from the world.And yet, this ring continues to insist on remaining “beautiful,”quietly preserving its circular form.
What remains here is not beauty as salvation.
Beauty that has been stripped of meaning and abandoned by purpose eventually begins to distort,transforming into something disturbingly close to ugliness.
If you look closely into the ring,familiar motorcycle components reveal themselves.
Objects once created purely for speed and function now lie fixed in place,
serving only as the skeletal structure that supports a beauty with no reason to exist.
This work attempts to visualize the obsession with beauty that continued to survive even after the collapse of the world.It is not something to be blessed or admired,but the remains of a curse—the lingering carcass of beautyto which humanity has been eternally bound.
